Acrylic-collages and pouring

Acrylic paint is a plastic, water-based medium that can be diluted to watercolor consistency or used like thick butter.  It therefore is a natural choice for collages as it can act as glue and be easily controlled texturally.

Collage is controlled, pouring acrylic is the opposite!

Choosing to pour acrylic requires the addition of PVA glue, Floetral (a flow medium,) and tread mill oil; these mixed carefully and applied/poured/dripped in various ways allow for chemical reactions independent of the artist’s control.  Thicker, opaque pigments like metallics, white, and black settle through thinner, transparent ones to create bubbles and various shapes.  The results of this deliberately-planned but quickly-executed art are always a surprise!
